The Immuno-Oncology Clinical Network (IOCN) was established in 2022 by Dr Anna Olsson-Brown and a team of trustees with a passion for improving the care of cancer patients receiving immuno-oncological (IO) treatments.
Prior to the IOCNs formation there was no national body to drive the effective and consistent uptake and management of IO treatments across all cancer types. With the anticipated growth in scale and complexity of IO treatments the challenges facing healthcare professionals looking after cancer patients will continue to rise

Charitable status
2023
We recognised the need to build a multi-disciplinary and multi-specialty community to support healthcare professionals manage the complexities and challenges of implementing and utilising IO treatments including the immune mediated side effects. The IOCN became a registered charity in October 2023.
- The rich set of existing knowledge, experience and materials is not easily available to colleagues seeking to develop their I-O services
- The anticipated continued growth in scale and complexity of I-O treatments will expose these issues even further and constrain ongoing uptake
